Shift Pattern: 4 on / 8 off (including sleep ins)
Service: Residential Care for Children and Young People
Are you passionate about working with children and young people in a residential setting? Do you love the outdoors and want to use your skills to make a difference? My client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Activity Worker to join a new service in Stoke-on-Trent.
About the Role:
As a Senior Residential Activity Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, helping them to develop their independence, confidence, and life skills. This is a unique opportunity to work in a setting that emphasizes outdoor activities as part of a therapeutic approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and organising outdoor and recreational activities that are both engaging and therapeutic for the young people in your care.
- Supporting the development of individual care plans, ensuring that each child's needs are met.
- Providing emotional and practical support, helping children and young people to achieve their full potential.
- Working closely with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the home.
- Acting as a role model and mentor to less experienced staff, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a similar residential setting.
- A genuine passion for outdoor activities and a commitment to using them as part of a therapeutic approach.
- Must be a driver with a full, clean driving license.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a 4 on/8 off shift pattern, including sleep-ins.
