Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker for our client who provides exceptional care within children's services. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of support workers, providing guidance and supervision
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for children, tailored to their specific needs
- Support children in their personal development, helping them build life skills and achieve their goals
- Ensure high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers
- Conduct assessments and reviews, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Participate in and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
- Provide training and support to less experienced staff
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Significant experience working in a support role within children's services
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, including staff management and development
- Sound understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices, including the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Full UK driving licence
