Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker for our client who provides exceptional care within children's services. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of support workers, providing guidance and supervision
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans for children, tailored to their specific needs
  • Support children in their personal development, helping them build life skills and achieve their goals
  • Ensure high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers
  • Conduct assessments and reviews, maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
  • Provide training and support to less experienced staff

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience working in a support role within children's services
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, including staff management and development
  • Sound understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices, including the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Full UK driving licence
