Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people.
- Contribute to strategic planning and development initiatives within the home.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe, loving, and supportive environment.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor staff, fostering a team focused on positive outcomes.
- Organise work rotas, facilitate care-focused training, and access external services to enhance childcare practices.
- Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships that promote recovery and growth.
- Manage shift patterns, including sleep-ins, to meet the needs of the home.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted legislation, safeguarding policies, and organisational standards.
- Assist with budget oversight and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a residential children's home.
- NVQ Level 4 in Management or Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Experience supporting children with complex needs or emotional/behavioural difficulties.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, to support 24/7 care delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, children, and external professionals.
- Commitment to values of excellence, passion, integrity, and caring.
