Job Title: Senior Support Worker - Children's Residential Home
Job Type: Full-Time, 39 hours per week, plus sleep ins
Salary: £29,200 - £30,400 plus sleep in allowance
Location: Spalding
Job Description:
Leader Recruitment Group are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our client's committed team. This role involves leading by example in promoting the wellbeing, development, and safety of children in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring high standards of care.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of care workers, fostering a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Engage directly with children, providing emotional support, guidance, and participating in activities that promote their growth.
- Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism, employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records, report writing, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the safety and security of the home, including adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Drive children to appointments, activities, or family visits as required.
Requirements:
- Substantial experience in a similar role within a children's residential setting.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare or Children & Young People's Workforce.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence is essential, as driving duties are part of the role.
- Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
